Barenaked No More?

Did you know that the Barenaked Ladies have been together for 21 years? Holy crap, 21 years! Who would have known unless you were a long time fan of course. The fact is that most people only know of that one hit they had. You know, the one about Chinese chicken, a ninja and the smoking man from X-Files. Well it appears that their frontman, Steven Page is leaving the band. In a message on their website they stated:

“By mutual agreement, Steven Page will be parting company with the remaining members of Barenaked Ladies. Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn, Ed Robertson and Tyler Stewart will continue recording and touring together as Barenaked Ladies. Steven Page will pursue solo projects including theatrical opportunities while the band enters the studio in April 2009, and hits the road in the fall.”

So they will still tour as the Barenaked ladies, just without Page. In case you still don’t know who I’m talking about here is that one big hit that most people know them by.
