From the Vault: Pearl Jam Performs ‘Even Flow’ Live

The 90’s was definitely a great time for rock and Pearl Jam definitely sealed the deal. They kick started a style of rock that would be emulated over the next 20 years. One could say that Nickleback has definitely taken some notes from Eddie Vedder. With that said nothing could ever beat the real thing. This is one band that will stand the test of time and will be recognized as one of the best rock bands.
One of Pearl Jam’s best songs is ‘Even Flow‘. When it’s played in a bar or comes on the radio everyone knows this track …read more

Craziest Album Cover!! CARNIFEX – Hell Chose Me

The American death-metal group CARNIFEX just released their new album art for ‘Hell Chose Me’ and it’s mind blowing.  Victory Records explains that this album is taking a much darker approach then the band as traditionally taken. They go as far as to say that it is going to be even more blasphemous. With that said the album art was designed to depict this and they were definitely successful.

They don’t discuss the album too much in depth because they want to create anticipation for the album’s release on February 16th 2010. What they do say is that the bands expression …read more

Driver Side Impact Double Vision EP – Available Jan. 2010

Victory Record’s Driver Side Impact has recorded four new killer melodic tracks for their new EP Double Vision. The cover art is unbelievable and easily could be framed and hung on your wall to trip out all of your friends. Don’t look at it for too long though.

Only catch is that this EP is a digital only EP so you can’t really hang this on your wall. However, it’s pretty cool to look at. This digital EP will be available at your local digital provider on January 12th, 2010.
To get you stoked for the new EP check out their official …read more

Daily Dose 7/18 Charlie Don’t Surf…But He Sings

Daily Dose 7/18 Charlie Don’t Surf…But He Sings

In the mid 90’s and around the time Guns N’ Roses Spaghetti Incident came out there was a huge controversial t-shirt on the market with the face of Charles Manson on the front and the infamous line from the movie Apocalypse Now! “Charlie Don’t Surf”. It was a big thing among surfers, rebellious teenagers, and rock and metal fans. I’ll admit…I wanted one back then. Why? Because it seemed cool at the time. I was a God hating metalhead and Charles Manson was an acclaimed Satanist. It quickly faded away for me and I never got the t-shirt. My parents …read more

Daily Dose 7/16 Guns N Roses Cover The Misfits “Attitude”

The Mifits have been one of my favorite bands since the mid 90’s when a friend of mine introduced me to them. I didn’t really get into them until I saw them live with Michael Graves singing in 1996 and then from there it snow-balled into almost an obsession. Buying up anything and everything I could find that had to do with The Misfits. Personally I like the old Misfits, but Graves did a good job on American Psycho and this facade that Jerry Only is putting on these days falls short.
When Guns N Roses came out with the Spaghetti …read more

Daily Dose Gun’s N Roses – Estranged

Daily Dose Gun’s N Roses – Estranged

Guns N Roses Estranged is probably one of the most under-rated songs on Use Your Illusion 2. Of all the great songs on Use Your Illusion 2 this is probably my favorite and it’s really hard to choose because of the number of amazing songs on this album. It’s a shame that this was their last great release before disbanding. The Spaghetti Incident while pretty cool in it’s own right, was nothing more than a bunch of studio cover songs and did not ever meat the expectations of G N’ R fans.
Now let me bore you with a story …read more

Daily Dose 7/14 Guns N’ Roses – Knockin On Heavens Door

Bob Dylan is and was just one of those amazing song writers that wrote so many songs that have been covered by amazing musicians over the years. While Dylan’s singing left quite a bit to be desired, the music itself never fell short and his singing style always made him a unique musician. Not to mention the fact that Dylan never cared what anyone thought about his views or opinions and wrote, played and spoke up on the issues at hand as he still does today.
But wait.  Your saying “I thought this is supposed to be about Guns N Roses?” …read more
