Dead Zeppelin: No Singer, No Tour
January 9, 2009 by Scott
Well it looks as if even a tour with half of the original Led Zeppelin Members will no longer happen. Yesterday Britmusicscene.com reported that Jimmy Page’s manager, Peter Mensch said that all hope has been scrapped for any kind of Zeppelin based tour, with or without Robert Plant.
2007 Grammy’s Were Designed For Led Zeppelin
December 8, 2008 by Scott
Todd Martens of the L.A. Times reported that even though the 2007 (50th Anniversary) Grammy’s opened with Alicia Keys performing Frank Senatra, it has been said that the Grammy’s were designed around hopes that the recently reunited Led Zeppelin (when they played a few weeks before, for the one off show) would open the historic show.
Plant Weighs In On Weeded Zeppelin Tour
November 26, 2008 by Scott
Robert Plant has made a statement concerning his non participation in the possible upcoming tour that his former Led Zeppelin band mates may be embarking on. Plant has stressed that he doesn’t want to do a full scale tour and it just seems that some people can’t stop beating a dead horse. Here is what Plant had to say from Manicnirvana.com:
“In January, I’m starting to record a new album with Alison Krauss and T Bone Burnett,” he revealed, before adding “but I understand that everyone’s got to eat,” implying that the Plant-less Led Zep has his blessing.
But before he joined the Big Town Playboys on stage for a couple of bluesy numbers, he imparted one piece of significant information: “They won’t be calling it Led Zeppelin!
So there you have it…now leave the dude alone.
Unledded Zeppelin
November 13, 2008 by Scott
It looks as if Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham are going to tour totally Led free. That is they will not be touring as “Led Zeppelin“. I think that’s a good thing. A few rumored singers to be filling the void will be Steven Tyler of Aerosmith or maybe Myles Kennedy of Alterbridge, who have rehearsed with the former three Zeppelin musicians.
But Page wants to make one thing clear about the new project. “Whatever this is, it is not Led Zeppelin,” says a rep for Page’s management company, QPrime.
I kind of thought the idea of them touring as Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant was a stupid idea anyway. The main question a lot of people have, to include RollingStone.com is will this be a successful tour? It’s hard to say. I would think so, but you never really know how people are going to react, especially if ticket prices are outrageously priced.
Jack Bruce Of Cream: "F*ck Off, Zeppelin. You’re Crap."
November 5, 2008 by Scott
Did I miss someone from Led Zeppelin talking trash about Cream somewhere along the line? The Classic Rock Awards were held last night and Cream won the gong for “Classic Album” with their 41 year old release of “Disraeli Gears“. Accepting the award was Jack Bruce who was also pulled in for a post-award interview with Classic Rock Magazine’s Dave Ling. Here is just a little bit of Jack Bruce’s anti-Zeppelin rant:
Everybody talks about Led Zeppelin, and they played one fucking gig – one fucking lame gig – while Cream did weeks of gigs; proper gigs, not just a lame gig like Zeppelin did, with all the [vocal] keys lowered and everything. We played everything in the original keys. [Becoming animated]: Fuck off, Zeppelin, you’re crap. You’ve always been crap and you’ll never be anything else. The worst thing is that people believe the crap that they’re sold. Cream is 10 times the band that Led Zeppelin is.
Led Zeppelin Radio On Sirius Satellite Radio

Led Zeppelin. What can you really say about them that hasn’t already been said a million times. Their history is self explanatory and their legend will live on forever with or without a reunion tour. Without Robert Plant it wouldn’t really be reunion tour, or much of a Led Zeppelin tour at all for that matter.
Jimmy Page Doesn’t Want To Be A Star
…On the Hollywood walk of fame, that is. Rocky Dickerson started a campaign to nominate Led Zeppelin for a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. While a lot of people would like to see this, Jimmy Page doesn’t feel that he should endorse it. Can’t blame the man for being humble.
Dickerson stated that he wants to make it fan driven.
“I’m trying to make this a totally fan-driven thing,” he said. “I don’t want anything from any corporate entity, or anything from LED ZEPPELIN. I want this to be a small thing that we, the fans, can give back to LED ZEPPELIN after 40 years of great music.”
Even though Jimmy Page doesn’t want to endorse this doesn’t mean that it can’t happen though. You can check out http://ledzeppelinstar.com and join the petition at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/LedZeppelinStar

Robert Plant Shoots Down Led Zeppelin Tour Rumors
September 29, 2008 by Scott
Rumors were flying all over the place last week that British rock legends, Led Zeppelin were back with front-man Robert Plant and planning a world tour. I was skeptical from the get-go. Seriously, how many times in the past year have we heard this and how many times has Robert Plant set the record straight. Well let’s just add one more time to that list. Plant will be finishing up his tour with Alison Krauss on October 5th and an official statement left at Robertplant.com reads as follows:
After those dates, Robert has no intention whatsoever of touring with anyone for at least the next two years. Contrary to a spate of recent reports, Robert Plant will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin. Anyone buying tickets online to any such event will be buying bogus tickets.
Led Zeppelin Strikes Deal With Music Sales
September 2, 2008 by Scott
If you play guitar or bass then you know that over a year ago there came a big problem with online tab archive sites having to remove all of their tabs regardless if it was the artists or the authors (Being the person that transcribed it) rendition of the songs. The record industry and ASCAP said it violated copy write laws. A million guitar players that relied on tab to learn the songs they love, were pissed off and I was one of them. I think the sites were kind of snitched on guitar magazines and tablature publications that print tab. They were losing sales because people could just as easily find the tabs they wanted without having to buy the magazine or books and could find more of what they wanted. Who really knows. Anyway, on to the headline story.
Music Sales‘ chief operating officer Chris Butler said: “Music Sales is delighted to have the opportunity — for the first time — to be print music publishers for what is one of the world’s truly iconic bands.”
A spokesperson for Led Zeppelin said: “We recognized that Music Sales had both the experience and the scale of operations to do full justice to publishing this classic material right across Europe.“
So Zeppelin has agreed to release the real deal to ‘Music Sales’ and they will distribute it in a multitude of forms to include online publications. Of course you’ll have to pay for them, but if you want to learn the true way Jimmy Page plays some of the classics then you’ll be willing to shell out a few bucks.
