Tune Into the Grammy Awards!

The 52nd Annual Grammy Awards air Sunday night (January 31st) at 8:00 pm with several great performances. The classic “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” will be sung by Mary J. Blige and opera’s Andrea Bocelli to help with the Haiti relief efforts (you can purchase the song on iTunes and all proceeds will go to Haiti). Also performing are the Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, the Dave Matthews Band, Green Day, Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, Maxwell, P!nk, and the Zac Brown Band.

Hope For Haiti Now Telethon Nets $57 Million

The Hope For Haiti Now telethon netted over $57 million for Haiti and the efforts to help the earthquake hit country.
On Friday night artists including Coldplay, U2, Madonna, Shakira and Justin Timberlake performed at the event that was televised life across all major networks.
A list celebs including Leonardo DiCaprio, Halle Berry, Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt also appeared.
Bono performed with Jay-Z and The Edge (featuring Rihanna). Their song, “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)” was produced by Swizz Beatz and the collaboration was created over the phone when The Edge and Bono came up with the chorus together. …read more

U2 Highest-Grossing North American Tour of 2002

Somehow I’m not surprised! U2 managed to rack up the highest-grossing North American tour of 2009. In just 20 days on the road during their 360 tour, they pulled in $123 million at the box office. The band visited 16 cities, sold more than 1.3 million tickets.
Unfortunately, in other news, “Spider-Man, Turn off the Dark,” the $50 million Broadway musical by Bono and The Edge, has been delayed until fall 2010.
The show, the most expensive in Broadway history, was supposed to open in March at the Hilton Theater but production halted when they ran out of funds. …read more

The unique four-hour music event The 25th Anniversary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Concert will be presented Thanksgiving weekend, Sunday, Nov. 29, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT), exclusively on HBO, it was announced today by Nancy Geller, senior vice president, HBO Entertainment.  Featuring performances from two groundbreaking concerts to be held this October at Madison Square Garden, the special will be anchored by iconic musicians that include Eric Clapton, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Friends, Aretha Franklin, Metallica, Paul Simon, Simon & Garfunkel, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, U2 and Stevie Wonder, among others.
