“I don’t mind stealing bread from the mouths of decadence.
But I can’t feed on the powerless when my cups already overfilled.” ~ Temple Of The Dog - Hunger Strike
Temple Of The Dog was a collaboration in tribute to the late singer of Mother Love Bone singer Andrew Wood by Sound Garden singer Chris Cornell with members of Mother Love Bone and soon to be members of Pearl Jam. Wood died of a Heroin overdose in March of 1990. Andrew Wood was Chris Cornell’s room mate and friend. Soon after, Chris Cornell went back on tour with Soundgarden and started writing songs for what would soon become Temple Of The Dog.
Temple Of The Dog has some great songs on it to include Say Hello 2 Heaven, Reach Down and Call Me A Dog. it was released in 1991 but did not really get big until 1992 when Pearl Jam broke through on the grunge scene. Grunge was really starting to grow at that time and soon after the release of Temple Of The Dog and Pearl Jam’s Ten, grunge started to become recognized nationwide and became the latest trend in modern rock music.

Temple Of The Dog - Hunger Strike Lyrics
I don’t mind stealing bread
From the mouths of decadence
But I cant feed on the powerless
When my cups already overfilled
But its on the table
The fire is cooking
And they’re farming babies
While the slaves are working
The blood is on the table
And their mouths are choking
But I’m growing hungry
