Sure it was written by The Beatles, but SRV made it so much bluesier. Let me tell you a little something about “The Taxman”, and not the song. Here in North Carolina they have a car tax. In fact they have a tax for just about everything and one of the highest gas taxes on the east coast. If you own a car you have to pay a tax on it every year. Mine was due back in March and I over-looked it with all intention to pay. Well the county tax collector put a garnishment on my checking account without any notice to me and without the bank notifying me. This garnishment completely drains my checking account and caused 4 check card holds to bounce so to speak and cost me 140 in NSF fees. On top of that the bank says that I will have to pay them a $100 legal processing fee. NICE right? So because I didn’t pay my car tax, which was only $126, now it’s costing me almost $400. Luckily this isn’t my only bank account with money in it but it was the one that I thought I had enough to cover a few check card purchases. I suppose next time I won’t overlook it again. Oh yeah, Wachovia Bank is a criminal institution that will squeeze every cent out of your wallet that they possibly can.
