“Are we listening to hymns offering?
Have we eyes to see that love is gathering”
Collective Soul - The World I Know
This was the second song I ever heard from Collective Soul, December being the first. Honestly I never got into Collective Soul much after this song. It’s kind of a depressing song but it sends that message that even when things are really bad in life, there is always a reason to live even if you can’t see it. A beautiful song to say the least.

Collective Soul - The World I Know Lyrics
Has our conscience shown?
Has the sweet breeze blown?
Has all the kindness gone?
Hope still lingers on.
I drink myself of newfound pity
Sitting alone in New York City
And I don’t know why.
Are we listening?
To hymns of offering.
Have we eyes to see?
Love is gathering.
All the words that I’ve been reading
Have now started the act of bleeding
Into one.
So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
While the tears roll down.
‘Cause it’s the world I know.
It’s the world I know.

Collective Soul just announced tour dates with Live and Blues Traveler. That’s a 90’s dream lineup if I ever heard one…

Yeah, it is. I heard awhile back that the singer from Blues traveler died. Guess not, but I was just too disinterested to look into it. Blues traveler annoyed me greatly in the 90’s.
