“There are disco bands, rap bands, Yiddish folk song bands in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, but not KISS,” the band’s outspoken frontman said during a speech at the Billboard Touring Conference on Thursday. “I believe we have more gold records in America than any other group, but it’s OK.”

Concerning the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame Board members, he says:

“A lot of those guys on the board can go and get my sandwich when I want, and I mean that in the nicest way,”

He’s got a point. I mean what the hell do you have to do these days to get in to the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame? Of course Gene or one of the boys may have burned some bridges in the past and that doesn’t help things, nor does the sandwich statement.

On another note, if they ever are inducted I surely hope they include every band member that has been involved with their success…that success being with Ace Frehley and Peter Chris. Let’s be honest…everyone after that was just hired help.

Velvet Revolver

Blabbermouth first reported this rumor last week and now via Snakepit.org, an official Slash fansite, the rumor has been confirmed with them reporting that Slash said:

“that while it is true that VR is no longer with RCA, the truth is not as negative as the rumor. The band owed RCA money for a third album which at this time they are unable to produce (no singer). The band and RCA parted amicably. When they are recording the new album, it most likely will be for a new label. “

People around the web have made suggestions as to who should replace Scott Weiland with such names as former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach and Chris Cornell formerly of Soundgarden and Audioslave. I don’t think either of these singers would fit well in the band  even with their talent. Putting a singer in their with a big ego as both of these names have could prove disastrous in my opinion. I imagine that sooner or later they will find someone that fits well with their style of music.

“When he gets sober, they’ll accept him into the band and then they’ll do a comeback album and a world tour, that’s the dream of Steven Adler,” Sands told Reuters.

The article also goes on to say that Adler has a speech impediment after suffering a stroke from a speedball overdose. It makes me wonder if he had a stroke that caused a speech impediment, how has this effected his drumming? Even if a Guns N’ Roses reunion was to happen, would he be able to hold the drumming duties? I think that it’s important for him to deal with one step at a time and kick this addiction before jumping in to something that might never really happen. A relapse could certainly happen if there was a reunion.

Could Axl curb his ego long enough to make a reunion happen? Probably not.

It looks as if Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham are going to tour totally Led free. That is they will not be touring as “Led Zeppelin“. I think that’s a good thing. A few rumored singers to be filling the void will be Steven Tyler of Aerosmith or maybe Myles Kennedy of Alterbridge, who have rehearsed with the former three Zeppelin musicians.

But Page wants to make one thing clear about the new project. “Whatever this is, it is not Led Zeppelin,” says a rep for Page’s management company, QPrime.

I kind of thought the idea of them touring as Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant was a stupid idea anyway. The main question a lot of people have, to include RollingStone.com is will this be a successful tour? It’s hard to say. I would think so, but you never really know how people are going to react, especially if ticket prices are outrageously priced.
