Southern Rocker Also Set to Perform at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 7th
Who: Kid Rock grew up in Michigan and started DJing and rapping during his teen years. What started as a way to get free beer at parties eventually led to the release of his first album, “Grit Sandwiches for Breakfast” in 1990. It wasn’t until 1999 that Kid Rock achieved superstar status, thanks to his breakout hit, “Bawitdaba.” In the years following, Kid Rock had a very public on and off-again relationship with Pamela Anderson, and professionally, his musical style evolved into the southern rock/country genre.
His current single, “All Summer Long,” is the most successful single Kid Rock has ever released, earning him a place on the Country, Top 40 and Modern Rock charts (among others) the entire summer. Kid Rock will be performing the single at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards on September 7th at 9PM ET/PT – the perfect way to cap off summer 2008.
