Kiss Blames Us For Them Not Selling Old Songs On New Compilations
June 17, 2008 by Scott
XFM interviewed Gene Simmons at Download Festival, a festival to celebrate downloading and ironically Gene thwarts the fans for downloading…wtf?
Antimusic.com published a post and said it best, although not saying anything that hasn’t already been said. Apparently the writer of the post feels the same as the rest of the world does about KISS’s compilation after compilation of the same old songs.
Here is what Gene told XFM, “In all seriousness – and it’s unfortunate – but the record industry is dead; it’s six feet under the ground and unfortunately, the fans have done this. They’ve decided to download and file share and there’s no record industry around. We’re gonna wait till everyone settles down and becomes civilized and as soon as the record industry pops its head then we’ll record new material.”
Now that that has been said, let me say this. Nobody wants NEW kISS material because new KISS material is not interesting enough to listen to. It hasn’t been for a long time, so Gene, you’ll be waiting a long time. The only people that want new KISS material are the die hard fans that refuse to believe that KISS as musicians are done. There is nothing KISS can do to revive the days of the 70’s unless they change their music to reflect what modern day fans want. And what do modern day fans want? Not another KISS compilation or old songs re-recorded. I don’t want to hear Detroit Rock City recorded with the current members. I don’t want to hear Beth sung by anyone other than Peter Chris. And lastly, I don’t want to hear Hard Luck Woman recorded all Pro-tooled out. Leave well enough alone and just keep selling KISS tampons and ridiculous stuff like that.
I hate the fact that Gene and KISS give me so many reason to write about and hate them more and more each day.

The Damn Music speak for it self, if people don’t buy their crap it’s because people don’t like it. And I bet you that the people the download their music are the ones the probably would never BUY their records, also the music industry it’s so big now days and there’s a lot of good and better music out there. And i Do like old KISS albums, but If i already have them, i’m not going to buy them over and over again. So if this Guys didn’t save their money when they could, oh well, but don’t come now trying to exploits fans and then blame them for bad sales. To Hell with that.
these guys have plenty of money…it’s just greed. They want more and more. He’s just pissed because Journey is selling more CDs than they are right now…and that’s sad.
FIFI LARUE Is here to save the day!
