KISS Supports Obama…Or McCain…Or Just Money

You’d think that perhaps KISS is supporting one or the other U.S. Presidential candidates but in reality it’s just another way to us the current United States Presidential Candidate Election to benefit them and make money off of the candidates faces by throwing a KISS graphic over John McCain or Barrack Obama’s face. I doubt if any money from these T-Shirts is going towards either of the candidates campaign. They’ll say it’s an attempt to get people involved in the voting process but we all know it’s just another way to use the run for office as a money grabber. Either way the T-shirts are kind of cool, but I won’t be buying in to this. The shirts below are a “PG” version. You can order a different version that says “VOTE Or Shut The F*ck Up” on the back. Is there anything they won’t put their name on? After reading your blogs for several months now, I know how you feel about KISS, and I am really feeling the same way now. They go out of their way to put their makeup or logo or name on anything that can be marketed, yet what was the last good song they wrote? “Love Gun”?? “Detroit Rock City”?? Since when was advertising more important than making music for a musician? This is just a pathetic attempt to make more money, as if they need it. Shame on you Paul and Gene, shame on you.

I love rockin out to some old KISS, but it’s obviously not about music anymore. And the music they are selling is recycled old stuff. You notice they aren’t trying to re-sell Psycho Circus….why? because Psycho Circus sucked. It’s an empire of logo selling.

They also have a history of copying anything successful but never forging their own way. Perfect example: The symphony album. Why would they try to pull one off?? Because Metallica’s S&M was very successful. Why they shouldn’t have?? Two words: Michael Kamen.
I’m glad that there are not as many bands out there who worry more about the name/logo than the actual art or making music.

everyone wants to make more money, but they do it in the trendiest way they can find. When disco was big…”I was made for loving you”. trying anything to stay relevant at that time. Now all they need to do is slap their logo on whatever comes along.
Even Gene’s new Moneybag clothing line. I’m just glad that he’s trying something outside the KISS name. At least with that it’s not based around the band and I’ll give him credit for that.
