Lenny Kravitz Rehearsing With Velvet Revolver?
Lenny Kravitz is rehearsing with Velvet Revolver? That’s the rumor according to The Sun magazine out of the UK.
The rocker, who is playing at the V Festival in Staffordshire and Chelmsford this weekend, has been spotted in the studio with the band.
A source said: “Velvet Revolver’s new album will draw heavily on their messy split with Scott. “The band wanted a big name who could easily hold his own and reckon Lenny is just the man for the job.”
What’s my take on this? Like I said…it’s a rumor as far as I’m concerned. Lenny Kravitz is a great performer, although I have never been a big fan, but I always catch myself singing along when his songs come on the radio. Would he fit Velvet Revolver? I ask myself the same question about Sammy Hagar and Royston Langdon. The truth is that we will never really know until we hear what they sound like together. Maybe yes, maybe no. I don’t think VR needs another guitar in the mix, so that’s something he will probably have to give up. We can only wait it out and see what comes next.

2 opinions for Lenny Kravitz Rehearsing With Velvet Revolver?

Man, I hope this doesn’t happen. I’ve never been a fan of Kravitz. I don’t think he would fit in at all. There is no way he would give up the guitar, and he’s not known to be an electric frontman like Axl or Weiland. It just wouldn’t be a good idea.

Yeah, I honestly don’t know how that would work out. Lenny has always been more of a solo artists and I don’t know how it would be if he was sharing the spotlight with the rest of those guys.
I agree with the “Source” when they say they need someone that is established and can hold their own, but seriously, they need to find someone that will fit and one that won’t conflict with the rest of the band. They also need to find someone who they can depend on staying clean and sober. While the three mentioned in the article are those kind of performers, I really don’t know who they could find that doesn’t have an ego or history as a lead that could slide right in and fit without outshining the band.
