December 5, 2009 by Eric J

Alexa Ray Joel, Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley’s 23 year old daughter, was rushed to the hospital today after an apparent suicide attempt, the NY Post reports.

Claire Mercuri, Billy and Alexa’s publicist and family spokesperson issued the following statement:

“Alexa is stable. Her doctors are assessing her needs and that’s all we can say at this moment.”

A well known songwriter, pianist and singer, Alexa Ray recently updated her MySpace page with a status of “forgotten” and said:

“Just Men. UGH!!! MEN!!!!

I don’t like dating!!! Wish I could be in a relationship again without having to date… I HATE going out!! I’m a homebody and a workaholic… I don’t like going out and drinking to meet men!!! I always have to drag myself out the door to get up the motivation to go out, and when I do go out, I don’t meet anybody!!!,” she wrote in an Aug. 11 post.

“Is anybody else finding it a difficult “dating world” out there? I’m so terrible at dating– I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to it! And I HATE the game-playing! Can’t stand it. I live in the greatest city in the world and I can’t seem to meet an interesting guy who also happens to be NICE.”

Alexa was conscious at St. Vincent’s Hospital, and is expected to survive.

Puddle of Mudd Frontman Injures Leg

December 4, 2009 by Eric J

PUDDLE OF MUDD FRONTMAN WES SCANTLIN’S LEG INJURY CREATES RIPPLE DURING NYC PROMO TOUR

BAND WAS IN BIG APPLE TO SET UP THE DECEMBER 8TH RELEASE OF VOL. 4, FEATURING THE CURRENT ACTIVE ROCK SMASH ‘SPACESHIP”

puddle of mudd injury

“I was kind of hoping it was more serious than it is,” says Wes Scantlin about injuring his right foot’s fifth metatarsal bone while in New York City on Monday. “I was told this type of fracture is seen a lot in athlete’s – I fractured mine simply hopping off a stool after our appearance on the radio show Rockline.” The injury forced Scantlin to reschedule a series of interviews slated for Tuesday – but the good news for fans is that it will not impact the rest of the band’s set up for their latest Flawless/Geffen release “Volume 4: Songs in The Key Of Love And Hate.”

“So much for a sexy explanation of what happened,” says Scantlin, adding “we will be turning that up a bit when we head back to Los Angeles for our Gibson-sponsored album release party featuring their new Dusk Tiger guitar.”

The event is scheduled at the Gibson Showroom on Monday December 7, with the album hitting the music marketplace on December 8. Puddle Of Mudd fans can be a “fly on the wall” at the event by checking out the happenings on the band’s channel via Ustream – http://www.ustream.tv/channel/puddle-of-mudd.

The band will also continue with the following dates in December as well: Dec 4th in Estero, FL at the Germain Arena and December 6th in Orlando at the House Of Blues.

Look for Puddle Of Mudd to hit the road on a North American tour with Shinedown beginning January 21st in Providence, RI.
