Chinese Democracy Commercial

A TV commercial has surfaced in promotion of Guns N’ Roses upcoming Chinese Democracy. Personally, I’m not really looking forward to, and/or anticipating this in any way. I may be curious but it’s not something I’m going to rush out an buy. However you can look forward to a give-away after it’s release.

The Ramones DO NOT Support McCain/Palin

Ramones Mickey Leigh, the brother of the late Jeffery Ross Hymann, better known as “Joey Ramone” has issued the following statement concerning Linda Cummings (wife of the late Johnny Ramone) using the name “Ramones” while aiding the McCain/ Palin presidential campaign.

“It has been brought to my attention that Linda Cummings, using the name “Ramone,” has recently been in the media joining with the Palin family and the McCains to attempt to aid their campaign for the Presidency. As a President of Ramones Productions, and brother of Joey Ramone, I just want it to be clear that Linda Cummings does not represent the political views of the Ramones. Surely, as for Joey Ramone, the only Ramones song he would sing at a Republican campaign event would be ‘Glad To See You Go!’

“I should add that when Johnny stated ‘God Bless George Bush’ at the 2002 Rock&Roll Hall of Fame awards, I realize now that he was on to something. Because if it were not for George Bush and his handling of our country the past 8 years, I doubt so many Americans, including so many highly regarded Republicans, would now be getting behind Barack Obama.  So, yes, God bless George Bush for paving the way to Obama.”

~ ~ Mickey Leigh

In the early part of the century all three original members of The Romones passed away. Joey Ramone (Jeffery Ross Hymann) died from Lymphoma in 2001, Johnny Ramone (John Cummings) from prostate cancer in 2004 and Dee Dee Ramone (Douglas Glenn Colvin)overdosed on heroin in 2002.

Winner Of "The Dirt" Contest Is…

thedirt The winner of the Motley Crue autobiography “The Dirt” is “S“, with her story of shutting of an ex’s utilities on a Friday.

“haven’t you ever called the new girlfriend and warned the girl of the guys bad things…or subscribed to a million magazines in his name, and shut off all his utilities during the day saying we are moving- and he comes home on a friday no water, no power to the place- haha and if he wants it hooked up on the weekend its extra!”

That’s really messed up and your an evil, evil woman. I’ll be contacting you shortly to retrieve your address.

I would like to offer an honorable mention to Miss X  who wrote this. It was a great story and I could visualize him going crazy trying to find the source of the noise.

“True dirt: my first boyfriend was a car-crazy a-hole who broke my heart. With the help of my little brother, I pried a rear hubcap off the a-hole’s vintage Mustang in the middle of the night and put a couple of nuts and bolts inside before putting it back. I heard he practically tore the car apart looking for the rattle!”

To those that entered and didn’t win, your story was either not quite “Dirt” enough or you just didn’t read the rules to the contest. Sorry, maybe next time.

Led Zeppelin Radio On Sirius Satellite Radio

Led Zeppelin Radio_nc

Led Zeppelin. What can you really say about them that hasn’t already been said a million times. Their history is self explanatory and their legend will live on forever with or without a reunion tour. Without Robert Plant it wouldn’t really be reunion tour, or much of a Led Zeppelin tour at all for that matter.

Douche Bags Unite: Ted Nugent On Dennis Miller Show Tonight

Ted Nugent_nc Today, Dennis Miller played host to Ted Nugent on his show. Of course Ted was there to be the douche bag that he is and promote is book and spout off about how much of a patriot he is, about shooting and eating animals and about shooting Mexicans crossing in to U.S. borders. The show aired at 11:20 and I didn’t bother to listen. Seriously, do we need to hear anything more from Ted Nugent?

Upon reading a comment from a reader yesterday (Thanks), informing me that Ted dodged the draft during the Viet-Nam war, I looked in to it to find out what he really did. It is said that he stopped performing any personal hygiene weeks before attending his draft physical and even stopped using the bathroom and urinated and defecated in his pants. He claims that this statement was made up for an interview in High Times Magazine. Who the hell makes up draft dodging stories? He also claimed he was attending college and got a year deferment. He then claims he felt guilty for not serving in Viet Nam and made USO trips to Iraq and Afghanistan. Yeah, that makes up for it. Bill Clinton made up for it by being President Of The United States for 8 years and our economy was great, so you going to play a few shows for the REAL Patriots is not really making up for it. In the mean time, your buddy “W” has dug us into a ravine called recession.

The Answer Kicks Of World Tour With AC/DC

The Answer In Support of their November 11th Never Too Late EP and forthcoming February 16th 2009 release of their Everyday Demons LP, The Answer is heading out on tour as support act for AC/DC. I’ll be posting a review of Never Too Late in the coming week or so. Here’s a little more info on the Ireland band The Answer, who’s singer sounds to me like a cross between Robert Plant and Chris Cornell.

THE ANSWER, a rising rock band from Northern Ireland that made the “Hot List” in the latest issue of Rolling Stone, is the opening act for AC/DC’s Black Ice World Tour. The North American leg of the global itinerary launches today at the Wachovia Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA and wraps January 31 at Nashville, TN’s Sommet Center. Highlights on the road also include shows at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on November 12-13 and The Forum in Los Angeles on December 6 and 8. Rolling Stone noted, “No effing wonder AC/DC tapped these U.K. long-hairs to open on their U.S. tour: The singer howls like Paul Rodgers, the guitarist shreds like Jimmy Page and the lyrics are as awesomely stupid as ballin’ without a rubber.”
