R.I.P. Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley
Somehow this completely slipped my mind this week. Yesterday something was telling me there was significance in April 8th and the I saw on my facebook someone mentioned that Kurt Cobain Died on April 8th, when we know the reality was that he wasn’t discovered until the 8th and they dated his death as the 5th. I wasn’t going to be a snotty rocker and correct them because most people think of the 8th as the day Kurt died, because that’s the day we all found out.
Layne Staley’s death is dated April 5th as well, though his body wasn’t found until April 19th and cause of death was noted as a “Speedball” injection overdose.
Both of these great musicians had drug issues, but I still think Kurt was murdered. Sadly we will probably never know the truth. All we can do is remember them for who and what they were.
Rest in peace Kurt and Layne.

Win the Complete Discography from "The Answer"
April 8, 2009 by Scott
I’m currently running a contest over on my metal Blog Metal Martyr. You can win the complete Discography from “The Answer and 3 winner will win their newest release Everyday Demons. Here are the details.
The Answer is a cool rock band out of Ireland that recently was on tour opening for the legendary AC/DC. If you’re not familiar with their music it’s kind of like The Black Crowes, AC/DC and Led Zeppelin all rolled in to one. Needless to say they have a great classic rock groove to them.
Here is a chance for one lucky winner to win their complete Discography to include their latest release, Everyday Demons and the unreleased Live At Planet Rock Xmas Party Featuring Paul Rodgers. 3 runner ups will receive the new album Everyday Demons.
How do you win? Since the bands name is “The Answer“, this is going to be a Jeopardy style contest where I will provide an “Answer” and you have to comment in the Jeopardy game show style of a question using the comment section. For example, I might say something simple like “Emo music” as the answer, and you would have to come up with something creative in the form of a question like “What is the musical genre God created to punish metal fans?“. Got it?
Contest is limited to U.S. Residents. I’ll pick the winners on April 30th.
So here is The Answer: “Courtney Love’s Panties.” Make it interesting, creative and most of all, funny. Remember, form of a question!
