Robert Plant Shoots Down Led Zeppelin Tour Rumors
September 29, 2008 by Scott
Rumors were flying all over the place last week that British rock legends, Led Zeppelin were back with front-man Robert Plant and planning a world tour. I was skeptical from the get-go. Seriously, how many times in the past year have we heard this and how many times has Robert Plant set the record straight. Well let’s just add one more time to that list. Plant will be finishing up his tour with Alison Krauss on October 5th and an official statement left at Robertplant.com reads as follows:
After those dates, Robert has no intention whatsoever of touring with anyone for at least the next two years. Contrary to a spate of recent reports, Robert Plant will not be touring or recording with Led Zeppelin. Anyone buying tickets online to any such event will be buying bogus tickets.
“It‘s both frustrating and ridiculous for this story to continue to
rear its head when all the musicians that surround the story are keen to get on with their individual projects and move forward,” Robert Plant said.“I wish Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham nothing but success with any future projects,” he added.
Last week British Tabloid “The Sun” reported that Plant had got back together with Page, Jones and Bonham and was planning a full reunion tour. When I first heard about this, the question in the back of my mind was “How credible is The Sun?“. Guess not as credible as some may think. You heard it straight from the horses mouth this time.
I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Plant in upstate NY about 16 or 17 years ago. He was a very nice fellow, just as everyone always speaks of him.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss played ACL this weekend and it was horrible. What a snore.
Seriously — is that a current photo of Robert Plant? wow.
I think it was this year. The man just turned 60. I suppose I could have picked a better picture, but I liked that one. Thought it was funny.
