My favorite dose of wisdome comes from Ray LaMontagne’s song “Burn” off his debut album Trouble. The line is: …yes and try to ignore, all this blood on the floor, it’s just this heart on my sleeve that’s bleeding.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more heartfelt line in a song. Thanks for letting me share! kc

As a Megadeth fan I have always liked Dave Mustaine’s Line in Holy Wars from the Rust In Peace Album:

“Brother will kill brother spilling blood across the land. Killing for religion, something I don;t understand.”

That whole song is filled with great lyrics, I wish I could post the whole song.

  3. Lauren says:

My favourite dose of rock wisdom is probably this line from Matchbox Twenty’s “Back to Good”:

“Everybody here has shades of shame, but looking inside we’re the same.”

My fav music quote, is from Hunter S Thompson:
“The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There’s also a negative side.”

2 Favs from David Lee Roth (I think the 2nd one he ripped off from someone else)

“Money can’t buy you happiness, but it can buy you a nice big yacht so you can pull up right next to it”

“The music business is all about sincerity, and if you can fake that, you’ve got it made”

And you can always count on Zappa for a good quote:
“I just think that it’s a different process to create a piece of music than it is to bounce a check, even though they both may be a little bit creative. Creative people may from time to time bounce checks, but people in Congress very seldom write sonatas.”

I’ve always liked this quote attributed to David Lee Roth:

“The reason why critics like Elvis Costello so much is because they all look like him.”

  7. poison- my best friend died a lonely man in some palm springs hotel room-I got the call last christmas eve and they told me the news. I tried all night not tobreak down and cry as the tears rolled down my face. I felt so cold and empty like a lost soul out of place. when someone close to you dies this will become so true
