Staind’s Aaron Lewis kicked off his solo tour last Friday evening in Henderson, Nevada. He’ll being solo touring until January 15th and then again with Staind from January 18th through February 10th for a Europe/UK tour. I’ve been meaning to check this out but I haven’t. Why? Because I’m one of those casual Staind Fans. I’m not a big enough fan to go run out and buy their CD whenever it comes out. Unfortunately I’m not tight with their PR or label so I haven’t had a chance to check out a review/promo copy of The Illusion Of Progress. However I have heard some good things about it and I like the single, Believe.

Staind’s Aaron Lewis was recently interviewed by ‘Possum Of Altitude’. Lewis talk about how the fans never want to hear the obscure song, they always want to hear the hits. Um…no shit, Aaron. They are the ones paying for the tickets and cd’s. Don’t you think it’s only fair to play the songs people want to hear? I’d be pretty pissed off if I went to a concert and the band played every song I didn’t want to hear. The Illusion Of Progress is set to release on Atlantic Records on August 19th.
 

Staind has set the release date for their upcoming album The Illusion Of Progress, for August 19th. The first single, Believe will hit the radio waves next week, June 24th.
Billboard.com reports:
“The band recorded at the studio that Lewis keeps in his barn with producer Johnny K. And while Staind previously swore to rock even harder this time out, Lewis says it’s aware of pressure for another ballad-style track along the lines of such hits as “Outside” and “It’s Been Awhile.”“That’s what the record label wants,” he says. “You’re foolish not to [be aware] of that.”
