It doesn’t get much more classic Aerosmith than this. The music has a deep sound to it as do the lyrics have a deep message. “Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay” and “You got to lose to know how to win”. Those are two statements to live by. Back In The Saddle was one of my favorites as a kid. I don’t know what it is about this song, but it just gets you going. Used in various movie sound tracks, this song is undoubtedly an anthem for someone getting back on their feet, making a comeback, coming back to life, etc. There is really not much more I can say about this song besides it’s just a classic Aerosmith song. The beginning of a weeks worth of Daily Aerosmith Doses Begins today! Of all the great power ballads that Aerosmith has come out with, Angel has hands down got to be my favorite. From the explosive way it starts to the chorus, everything about this song screams classic 80’s power ballad at it’s best. Since Permanent Vacation, the album that Angel is off of, Aerosmith have seemed to find a niche that works by putting at least one power ballad on every album since. That’s what most people know them for now. The younger rock enthusiasts of today know them more for their power ballads from such songs as Crazy and Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing. To celebrate the recent release of Guitar Hero Aerosmith, which I will probably buy sometime soon, I’ve decided to make this week’s Daily Dose band non other than the legendary Aerosmith. I’m going to try to fit as much Aerosmith features in as I can besides just the Daily Dose. We’ll see what else is out there. Enjoy.

I said last week that I was going to run this contest so here it is. After giving it some thought about how I want to run this contest here is how to enter and win. As you can see below I have 4 cd’s. Aerosmith’s Toys In The Attic, Alice In Chains Dirt, Kiss Destroyer and Ozzy’s Blizzard Of Oz. Here is what I want you to do:

In celebration of coming on as writer for The Rock Dose I’m going to hold my first contest in the next week or so. I have not given much thought into it yet but I’ve got a set of four CDs I’m going to give away. These four cds I consider rock classics.
