Would Every Former Member Of Guns N’ Roses Please Shut The F*** Up Already!

May 4, 2009 by Scott

Matt Sorum I’m tired of saying it and I’m tired of hearing it. Axl Rose owns the name “Guns N’ Roses“. He can tour, and write under that name as long as he owns it. Everyone knows that I’m not an Axl sympathizer but Jesus Christ I’m tired of hearing former members bitch about him.

I said awhile back that Chinese Democracy doesn’t really sound like a Guns N Roses record. It just doesn’t, but the fact remains that he owns the name. What get’s me is the former members of G N’ R bitching about him touring under the name.

Guns N’ Roses To Co-Headline With Van Halen?

March 6, 2009 by Scott

VAN HALEN EAO 2

I haven’t wanted to talk about this because it’s just been pure speculations and rumors, but there has been a lot of words flying around about Guns N’ Roses doing full blown stadium tour. What’s the big deal about that? Well, everyone is wondering how the hell Axl plans on filling those seats. They don’t believe that Guns N Roses has the pull they once did, even with the release of Chinese Democracy. You really do have to wonder if it’s possible for them to fill stadium seats and sell tickets. While there is no doubt that they will sell a  significant amount of tickets, it’s just hard to think of them filling stadiums by themselves with a support act.

Axl Rose Finally Speaks

December 12, 2008 by Scott

Axl Rose_nc Axl Rose has come out of “Hiding”…maybe. It’s been almost three weeks since the release of Guns N Roses’ Chinese Democracy and everyone has been wondering where Axl Rose is. Some rumors started saying that he might be trying to get the original line-up back together. Some said that Geffen records was highly upset with him and said that record sales would have gone better had he made some kind of appearances to promote the record and blamed the poor start on him.

Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy Sales Dive In Second Week

December 10, 2008 by Scott

Chidempoll Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy sales have taken quite the dive in the second week. First week sales reports estimate a sale of 261,000 copies (Including digital sales), which was much less than most anticipated.

In it’s second week of sales Chinese Democracy has only sold just under 57,000. That’s a huge drop, but let’s be honest, that’s still a lot of records these days for a rock band and a lot of rock/metal bands would love to have those kind of number after a month or two. Granted this is a band that made a huge impact in the 80’s and 90’s and was expected to be an enormous trophy fish. Sadly the biggest problem is that it hasn’t been marketed much and Axl Rose has been nowhere in site to promote it.

So here are the results from last weeks poll. I asked why YOU thought that Chinese Democracy Sales didn’t faire so well. The three top answers to this poll I think really sum it up and could go together.

Win Reckless Road Guns N’ Roses Book

December 5, 2008 by Scott

recklessroad_cover_big As I promised awhile back, I have a copy of Reckless Road Guns N’ Roses And The Making Of Appetite For Destruction. This book documents  the coming of Guns N’ Roses from the beginning and the making of Appetite For Destruction. Marc Canter, the author and longtime friend of Saul Hudson (Slash) started collecting and documenting everything Guns N’ Roses from the beginning of the bands inception, to the release and touring of the band in support of their breakthrough and historic record. It has hundreds of pictures of the band as well as pictures of memorabilia, tickets, flyers etc. Filled with dialogues from band members and memories of the hard times the band went through. This is an all around great book about the band and would make a great collection piece for any Guns N’ Roses Fan. Unlike Dr. Pepper, my giveaway is more realistic and I will make good on my offer.

Where The Hell Is Axl?

December 4, 2008 by Scott

zumawirewestphotos631777-20070615-mkh

Look on the back of your milk cartons, Axl Rose is missing. He pulled a Ja Rule  and just up and disappeared a couple of months before the release of Chinese Democracy. Maybe he saw all of the trash being talked about the new album and just decided to lay low and prepare himself for the slurry of insults and bad reviews that were bound to happen from Internet goers.

But what if he was doing something more productive? What if he was trying to rebuild some bridges and heal some old wounds? Even if it is just for money…what Axl is trying to the Original Line-up back together?

That’s the news/rumor going around right now. Imagine if it comes true!

Dr. Pepper Calls Chinese Democracy Record Sales An "Appalling Failure".

December 3, 2008 by Scott

GnR Chinese Democracy I’m just kidding. That just seemed like a proper and funny title considering what went down last week. But seriously, everyone expected this record to sell a million copies in it’s first week due to great anticipation that has been building for over a decade now. Granted, sales still did better than most rock bands these days, landing Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy at #3 on the Billboard 200. It only sold about 261,000 copies and that includes 25k digital sales. That’s a far cry from what they expected. Perhaps it’s because of the economy right now, or maybe it’s because most people that bought it are older fans and Guns N Roses just isn’t that relevant anymore. Why do you think it didn’t sell as much as they anticipated? Take the poll.

Holy Crap…Some Non-GNR News!

November 24, 2008 by Scott

The Gravel Report

Amongst the plethora of Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy news and former band members kissing Axl’s corn-row braided ass hairs, hoping for a Guns N Roses Reunion, there is actually some non GNR news!

Bret Michaels of Poison is writing a biography about himself. He says the title is still a working progress but right now it’s just called “The Brett Michaels Story“. I imagine it will have a heading title like “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn” or Something To Beleive In”. You know, something to make it sound more interesting that it really is. You can read an interview Michaels had with the Las Vegas Sun.

Charles Nesson, A Harvard Law School Professor is calling the Digital Theft Deterrence and Copyright Damages Improvement Act of 1999 unconstitutional in that a private business (The RIAA) can carry out civil enforcement of a criminal law. Read more on that at Billboard.biz.

Scott Weiland doesn’t know if he has it in him to continue with Stone Temple Pilots if they are forced to complete too many more recordings on Atlantic Records. However, he is very Happy In Galoshes.

Travis Barker is filing a lawsuit over the crash that injured him and took the life of two of his friends. He filing the lawsuit against The Aviation company and Good Year Tire. Read more about that at TMZ.

No Doubt will have a new album out in 2009. Does this mean that Gwen Stephanie’s latest yodeling record didn’t go as far as she would have liked? Maybe. It also makes me what how relevant No Doubt can be in this age of music? Read more about that at Rolling Stone.

Steve Adler’s Pipe Dream

November 19, 2008 by Scott

Steven Adler, the former Drummer of Gun’s N’ Roses has a dream of a G n’ R reunion. I think Slash does too and that’s why he’s kissing a lot of Axl Rose ass lately. Steve Adler has suffered with his addiction for sometime now and that is what caused his booting from the band back in the 90’s. Adler’s lawyer had this to say according to Gibson.com and Reuters:

“When he gets sober, they’ll accept him into the band and then they’ll do a comeback album and a world tour, that’s the dream of Steven Adler,” Sands told Reuters.

The article also goes on to say that Adler has a speech impediment after suffering a stroke from a speedball overdose. It makes me wonder if he had a stroke that caused a speech impediment, how has this effected his drumming? Even if a Guns N’ Roses reunion was to happen, would he be able to hold the drumming duties? I think that it’s important for him to deal with one step at a time and kick this addiction before jumping in to something that might never really happen. A relapse could certainly happen if there was a reunion.

Could Axl curb his ego long enough to make a reunion happen? Probably not.
