Here is the new Official video from AC/DC entitled Anything Goes from the Black Ice album. The video was filmed by David Mallet and was shot in France on February 27th.
AC/DC are still on a world tour with Irish rockers The Answer in support.
 

As if I needed to tell anyone this, AC/DC is among the top album sales of 2008. With 1.92 million album sales in the United States via WalMart Exclusive sale, AC/DC ranks # 5 for the year according to Nielsen Soundscan. This does not include digital sales as the band has opted not to do this. I think if they offered an electronic download of the entire album and not individual tracks, it would still sell well. It’s an official epidemic. AC/DC sold over 780K copies of Black Ice in the U.S. in their first week and it has only slowed down a little bit. It’s estimated they will sell close to 300K more in their second week. This is one of the biggest selling albums in rock. AC/DC are currently on tour in support of Black Ice with Ireland’s “The Answer” opening in direct support.

I don’t know if this was AC/DC’s final 401k plan so to speak, but if it was, they can be assured that they will be retiring happy. Over 780,000 copies of Black Ice have been sold in The United States in it’s first week of release and over 5 million copies have been shipped worldwide. Ad that to the 5 million+ copies of their back catalog being sold and they have sold 10 million records this year alone. That’s just unheard of! So today marks the day. AC/DC has officially released Black Ice through Columbia Records exclusively through Wal Mart and Sam’s Club. Eight years since their last release and months of hype, press and promotion for Black Ice has created such a buzz around these hard rock veterans that it has even re-ignited album sales of their back catalog in record sales and chart positions in the home land of Australia. This news is a few days old, but VH1 Classics is celebrating 24 hours of AC/DC in celebration of the bands upcoming Black Ice release on October 20th, just a little over a week away. ON October 19th VH1 Classics will start 24 hours of AC/DC with Classic In Concerts and video marathons. From PR Newswire:

AC/DC have been selling more tickets than any artist. As I reported a week or so ago, AC/DC have been selling out tickets in record time. Even with the economy the way it is, people are still up for laying down the hard-earned for some AC/DC tickets. As rickets go on sale they get sold out quick, so check your local ticketmaster for time and dates that tickets go on sale.

So what’s the big buzz around AC/DC lately? Sure they have a new record coming out on October 20th, but that’s just a sliver of the buzz. AC/DC’s back catalogs are selling like hot cakes everywhere. With most of their older albums at prices of $7.00 to $9.00 at Wal Mart, it’s no wonder. An 18 month world tour selling out tickets in record time just adds to the hype.

AC/DC tickets for the Black Ice tour are selling out in record time. It’s amazing how much buzz is around these rock veterans lately. Perhaps people long for some good old rock n’ roll and not this newer wave of modern rock. Who knows.
