Does Anyone Really Care What Gilby Clark Thinks Of Chinese Democracy?

According to Blabbermouth.net, a “fan” asked former Guns N Roses guitar player Gilby Clark what he thought about Chinese Democracy. Here is Gilby’s opinion.
“Yes, I listened to it on a long drive to Phoenix, Arizona,” Gilby replied. “I think it’s very good and very imaginative. Axl’s [Rose] vocals sound great and there’s some creative guitar playing on it also. But there was too many slow, to mid-tempo songs on it for my taste and some of the solos are a little overdone; they don’t match the song. Some of the lyrics are a little redundant. I expected some resolution …read more

Chinese Democracy: My Thoughts

Chinese Democracy: My Thoughts

I’ve sworn off buying Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy and I’m kind of glad I did. A friend let me borrow a copy and I really don’t know what to day to make this sound like a great record. I’m not a Gn’R fanboy so I will never say that I love this album.
You know those jig-saw puzzles have so many pieces and every one of them looks the same? It’s kind of like that in a weird way. It sounds like the entire record was pieced together like a giant, strange puzzle. I wouldn’t call it Guns …read more

Axl Rose Finally Speaks

Axl Rose Finally Speaks

Axl Rose has come out of “Hiding”…maybe. It’s been almost three weeks since the release of Guns N Roses’ Chinese Democracy and everyone has been wondering where Axl Rose is. Some rumors started saying that he might be trying to get the original line-up back together. Some said that Geffen records was highly upset with him and said that record sales would have gone better had he made some kind of appearances to promote the record and blamed the poor start on him.

Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy Sales Dive In Second Week

Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy Sales Dive In Second Week

Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy sales have taken quite the dive in the second week. First week sales reports estimate a sale of 261,000 copies (Including digital sales), which was much less than most anticipated.
In it’s second week of sales Chinese Democracy has only sold just under 57,000. That’s a huge drop, but let’s be honest, that’s still a lot of records these days for a rock band and a lot of rock/metal bands would love to have those kind of number after a month or two. Granted this is a band that made a huge impact in the …read more

Where The Hell Is Axl?

Where The Hell Is Axl?

Look on the back of your milk cartons, Axl Rose is missing. He pulled a Ja Rule  and just up and disappeared a couple of months before the release of Chinese Democracy. Maybe he saw all of the trash being talked about the new album and just decided to lay low and prepare himself for the slurry of insults and bad reviews that were bound to happen from Internet goers.
But what if he was doing something more productive? What if he was trying to rebuild some bridges and heal some old wounds? Even if it is just for money…what …read more

Dr. Pepper Calls Chinese Democracy Record Sales An "Appalling Failure".

Dr. Pepper Calls Chinese Democracy Record Sales An "Appalling Failure".

I’m just kidding. That just seemed like a proper and funny title considering what went down last week. But seriously, everyone expected this record to sell a million copies in it’s first week due to great anticipation that has been building for over a decade now. Granted, sales still did better than most rock bands these days, landing Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy at #3 on the Billboard 200. It only sold about 261,000 copies and that includes 25k digital sales. That’s a far cry from what they expected. Perhaps it’s because of the economy right now, or maybe …read more

Axl Rose’s Lawyers Call Dr. Pepper Promotion An "Appalling Failure".

The law offices of Alan S. Gutman, representing Axl Rose and Guns N’ Roses sent a letter to Dr. Pepper this past week. The letter calls their attempt to make good on their promise to give a free Dr. Pepper to everyone in America if Chinese Democracy was released an “appalling failure“. Blabbermouth.net acquired a copy of the 3 page letter in which the lawyers say:
After it became clear that Chinese Democracy would be released in 2008, Dr. Pepper executive Tony Jacobs proudly proclaimed that Dr. Pepper would make good on it’s promise to give a free soda to …read more

Free Dr. Pepper Too Much Of A Hassle?

Free Dr. Pepper Too Much Of A Hassle?

So Guns N Roses released Chinese Democracy today…woo-friggin-hoo! Sadly the buzz around the Internet right now isn’t about how good or bad Chinese Democracy might be, but rather people upset over trying to get their coupon for a free Dr. Pepper.
It seems Dr. Pepper wasn’t ready for the amount of traffic that would come over their servers from people trying to get their free soda coupon. It’s only available today for 24 hours and if you do get a coupon it expired on February 28th. People are complaining about spending soooo much time trying to find the link on …read more

Hear All Of Chinese Democracy Now

Hear All Of Chinese Democracy Now

Guns N Roses has made the entire Chinese Democracy album available for streaming on their Myspace. I heard all of “Better” on the radio yesterday and it really didn’t sound that bad but it does sound a bit dated and overproduced to me and I don’t see this song sounding good during a live show. It was kind of cool to hear Axl’s voice on new material again. We’ll see what the rest of it sound like (I won’t listen to the streams because I have found that that is the worst way to try and judge an albums …read more
