Six years after the fatal fire at The Station Nightclub in Rhode Island and Great White frontman Jack Russell is still blamed for the tragedy of that night. The fire, which was caused by pyrotechnics in the small venue, claimed the lives of 100 people and injuring 230 others. I, like many others don’t think they should have been using pyrotechnics in such a small venue, nor do I really think at that point in the bands career, did they need pyro. According to The Providence Journal, Great White has agreed to shell out a 1 million dollars to the victims of The Station Nightclub fire of 2003. This is a tentative agreement and has to be approved by the victims. The money will be provided through insurance and an allocation plan must be approved by the court. As you may recall, the man responsible for the pyrotechnics, Daniel Biechele, was released from prison on parole in march after serving less than half of his four year prison sentence for 100 counts of manslaughter.
