Would Every Former Member Of Guns N’ Roses Please Shut The F*** Up Already!
May 4, 2009 by Scott
I’m tired of saying it and I’m tired of hearing it. Axl Rose owns the name “Guns N’ Roses“. He can tour, and write under that name as long as he owns it. Everyone knows that I’m not an Axl sympathizer but Jesus Christ I’m tired of hearing former members bitch about him.
I said awhile back that Chinese Democracy doesn’t really sound like a Guns N Roses record. It just doesn’t, but the fact remains that he owns the name. What get’s me is the former members of G N’ R bitching about him touring under the name.
Steven Adler Should Write His Own Music
March 15, 2009 by Scott
Now that Steven Adler is clean and sober, he’s back on the road with his Guns And Roses tribute band. I mean that’s what it is after all, right? I totally understand that Steven wants to play music, but should he really take pride in performing Guns N’ Roses tunes after Appetite For Destruction? I think a lot of people would like to see Steven do his own thing and write some killer tunes that are his own.
Steven was interviewed by Pennylive.com’s Patriot News. In the interview he was of course asked about G N’ R days.
War Of The (Guns N’) Roses
Wow, there have been some pretty harsh words thrown around lately between Axl Rose and Slash’s Wife. Axl called Slash a “cancer”, claiming that Slash has lost his musical edge. “In a nutshell, personally I consider him a cancer and better removed, avoided – and the less anyone heard of him or his supporters the better.” he told Spinner.com.
In response to Axl’s comments, Slash’s wife, Perla Hudson published on her Myspace blog; “BTW have any of you seen that angry shit that Axl had to say about Slash? I just wish he was man enough to talk shit to Slash’s face! …LOSER!”
Does Anyone Really Care What Gilby Clark Thinks Of Chinese Democracy?
February 9, 2009 by Scott
According to Blabbermouth.net, a “fan” asked former Guns N Roses guitar player Gilby Clark what he thought about Chinese Democracy. Here is Gilby’s opinion.
“Yes, I listened to it on a long drive to Phoenix, Arizona,” Gilby replied. “I think it’s very good and very imaginative. Axl’s [Rose] vocals sound great and there’s some creative guitar playing on it also. But there was too many slow, to mid-tempo songs on it for my taste and some of the solos are a little overdone; they don’t match the song. Some of the lyrics are a little redundant. I expected some resolution since it’s taken so long.”
That’s a quick, yet fair opinion of the album. If you think about it, everything he said is spot on. Axl’s voice does sound great, there are too many slow to mid-tempo songs in it and well…the solos? He couldn’t be more correct on this one. They don’t fit the songs well and sound a little too engineered in as if the song was completely done and they suddenly wrote up a quick solo and did an “Insert here” type thing. Other than that, I was pretty wrong in assuming that the album would suck. Musically it was a pretty decent piece of work…but it just didn’t feel like a Guns N’ Roses album.

Chinese Democracy: My Thoughts
December 29, 2008 by Scott
I’ve sworn off buying Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy and I’m kind of glad I did. A friend let me borrow a copy and I really don’t know what to day to make this sound like a great record. I’m not a Gn’R fanboy so I will never say that I love this album.
You know those jig-saw puzzles have so many pieces and every one of them looks the same? It’s kind of like that in a weird way. It sounds like the entire record was pieced together like a giant, strange puzzle. I wouldn’t call it Guns N’ Roses. If it was Guns N’ Roses with most of the original member I would be wondering what the hell happened. It doesn’t sound like a Guns N Roses Album, it sounds like an Axl Rose solo album.
Sweet Child Of Mine…Redux
Mohib from Mindcafe.org sent me this cool video of Guns N Roses Sweet Child Of Mine coved in a commercial from Channel V, Australia’s 24 hour music channel. There’s a simple message at the end.
Rolling Stones Top100 Singles Of 2008
December 22, 2008 by Scott
Rolling Stones Top 100 Singles of 2008 shows just how out of touch this magazine has become with rock music. Of course we all know that Rolling Stone Magazine has been focusing more on Pop culture and Pop Music for a long time, but after seeing their list of the top 100 singles it just proves that this magazine is geared more towards exactly what it states…singles.
With only a handful of actual rock songs, and not even many good ones at that, it shows that it’s a corporate cuddling magazine. They even go on to criticize one of their top tracks. AC/DC’s “Big Jack” is number 53. Not even the best track off of the Black Ice album and not one I’ve heard them play on the radio at all.
Axl Rose Finally Speaks
December 12, 2008 by Scott
Axl Rose has come out of “Hiding”…maybe. It’s been almost three weeks since the release of Guns N Roses’ Chinese Democracy and everyone has been wondering where Axl Rose is. Some rumors started saying that he might be trying to get the original line-up back together. Some said that Geffen records was highly upset with him and said that record sales would have gone better had he made some kind of appearances to promote the record and blamed the poor start on him.
