Candlebox "Miss You" Video
December 15, 2008 by Scott
Coming off of the Into The Sun album from earlier this year is Candlebox’s Miss You Video. *”The song was written about Kevin Martin’s late father who was in the armed forces in WW2 and the video is about missing loved ones, especially those serving our country.”* The video is all about missing the ones you love and is also a tribute to the U.S. Armed forces and features pictures and video submitted by military families. It’s a very touching video and song.
As a military vet from 1994 to 2005 I saw a lot of people come and go on deployments. It’s never easy for anyone to deploy, knowing that there is a great chance that they might not come back. I saw a lot of people go and knew a few that didn’t make it back. Fortunately for myself and my family I never got deployed to a Iraq or Afghanistan, but so many others did. Some have been to both Iraq and Afghanistan two or three times since 2001. You don’t have to support the war, but please support our troops and their families.

5 Tracks That Rocked The Summer Of 2008
August 17, 2008 by Scott
It’s time for a b5Media Music Channel Theme Day and here I present 5 Tracks That Rocked The Summer Of 2008. I could probably have found more than 5, but here are the 5 that I liked the best.
Candlebox came back this summer with Into The Sun, their first record in a long time.Into The Sun is filled with some great Candlebox. The one that stands out to me and was a favorite off Into The Sun is Stand. It’s got that signature Candlebox sound and is a great track to start off their step back into the world of modern rock.
Seether’s Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces came out almost a year ago, but the song Rise Above This is still a killer rock song and reminds us all that there is always an alternative to suicide. No matter how bad things can get, there are avenues you can take to get help and that it effects the ones that love and care for you.
Shinedown returned this summer with The Sound Of Madness. If you’re a fan of Shinedown then you know that they never disappoint. With heavy rock songs also comes power ballads and Shinedown knows how to write the ballads. Call Me is one of a few ballads on The Sound Of Madness, but this one stands out the most.
Bigelf just released Cheat The Gallows recently and if you’re not familiar with Bigelf, get ready for an interesting ride. In a review of Bigelf I said that they kind of sound like a mixture of The Beatles, Pink Floyd And Black Sabbath. That might be a difficult thing to imagine but trust me, it all mixes well and makes for a good time. Gravest Show On Earth has you wondering where this ride is going to take you, but once you get into the groove you won’t want to get off.
Torche, as I mentioned before is a band that I learned about when I saw them live this past may. The opened for The Sword and caught my interest pretty quickly. Meanderthal of the the album with the same name is 4 minutes of down-tuned thunderous glory. While it’s strictly an instrumental, it’s a real cool fist pounding song. Meanderthal is also filled with other great tunes as well so check it out.

July 30, 2008 by Scott
Candlebox have landed at # 32 on the Billboard 200 charts for first week sales, selling over 14,000 copies. That is great to hear they deserve it. If you haven’t already checked out Into The Sun, the sales speak for themselves and you should give it a listen.

Review: Candlebox Into The Sun
Candlebox’s newest release Into The Sun has been out for almost a week now. I’ve been trying to give it a good hard listen all the way through but with work and working on three blogs to include this one, it’s been kind of difficult. I have listened to it all the way through but with great distractions. Now what I can tell you is that this is no one-off comeback for Candlebox, thrown together with dollar signs in mind. This is going to be a bare-boned, basic review so kind of bare with me…
