No Doubt, Wolfmother, Chris Martin Among Artists to Perform at the 2009 Annual Bridge School Benefit

Organized by Neil Young and his wife Pegi, the Bridge School Benefit is an annual non-profit charity concert held in Mountain View, California every October at the Shoreline Ampitheatre. The first concert was in October 1986, and, with the exception of 1987, the concert has been held every year since. As a practice, but not a rule, the performers use acoustic instruments. Young also personally performs every year.

Farm Aid was established 23 years ago. As everyone was trying to Feed the World, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young came together and said it was important to take care of America first, specifically America’s family farmers.
Farm Aid’s concerts over the past 23 years have generated 30 million dollars in donations, a far cry from the 40 million that the Live Aid benefit generated in its inaugural event also 23 years ago. Neil Young Announces North American Tour

Rock Legend Neil Young is set to kick off a North American tour this fall starting St. Paul Minnesota on October 14 and ending it December 15th at Madison Square Gardens, NY.
Young just finished up a European tour through 14 countries in three months, which was very successful. The same band that backed him in Europe will be with him for the North American Tour. Flying Solo

As we know all too well, sometimes band members, particularly the singers decide to go solo. Sometimes it works out for them but most times it ultimately flops. IN a recent feature at Gibson.com, they highlighted 15 artists that successfully went solo. Wether the decision to go solo was to further ones own career or due to differences among band members, it’s often an ego stroke for most.
