Pink Floyd Converse All Stars
Pink Floyd. Just the name brings such a joy to me heart. I’m not one of those fans that gushes over the early Pink Floyd works, but I still love the band for the albums that I own and the spectacle of their live shows.
Even David Gilmour still brings a smile to my face every time I hear his voice in his solo work. It’s soothing, trippy rock & roll that just makes you feel good. You don’t have to be a drug user to enjoy Pink Floyd as a lot of people assume. You just have to be a …read more
The Dark Side Of The…Record Industry
April 21, 2009 by Scott
Braveword.com is reporting that EMI may be facing legal action from one of their most profitable assets. Pink Floyd, I’m not sure which members are actually representing the band, are taking legal action claiming that EMI is “Miscalculating” their royalty payments.
The unprecedented legal claim is a glimpse at the fraught relationship between EMI, under the ownership of Guy Hands’s Terra Firma, and some of the label’s leading acts. The new owner’s arrival in 2007 was blamed for the departure of acts such as Radiohead and Paul McCartney.
The report also goes on to say that the legal action may have …read more

Converse is celebrating 100 years of converse with a new line of the Classic “Chuck Taylor” All Stars. 100 years, really? That’s right. Converse started up 100 years ago in 1908 as Converse Rubber Corporation. Nine years later the Converse All Star basketball shoe was born. Still a timeless classic that has survived through almost a century of changes in footwear fashion and design. Very few things have lasted so long without deviating too far from the original design.
As part of their new designs celebrating their 100th anniversary, Converse started unveiling a line of rock band inspired All Stars …read more

David Gilmour recently honored band mate and friend Richard Wright in a statement at his personal website. Richard Wright recently worked on David Gilmour’s upcoming release David Gilmour Live at Dansk and was a staple and founder of Pink Floyd. David Gilmour Live In Gdansk
September 18, 2008 by Scott
I’m not a huge fan of live albums. In fact sometimes I just don’t see the point. Why? Because some bands just don’t sound all that great live. Pink Floyd on the other hand are one of those bands that I do like hearing live. Unfortunate for me, I never got to see a Pink Floyd live show. However I can still enjoy the live cd’s and now this. David Gilmour does an incredible job covering the classics and his own originals.
David Gilmour Live In Gdańsk is a double live album plus concert DVD to be released on …read more

Two days ago one of the founding members of one of the greatest bands to ever compose music, Pink Floyd, died at only 65 years old. Richard Wright died after a brief battle with cancer. Iheartmusic.com reports:
He helped write a number of the group’s hit albums including Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, and Wish You Were Here before quitting in 1981 following a bust-up with Waters.
After an unsuccessful attempt at a solo career, Wright rejoined Pink Floyd six years later, after Waters had left, and he continued to perform and record with Mason and new …read more
The Art Of Reinventing A Rock Band
July 27, 2008 by Scott
Gibson.com had a great article on bands that have reinvented themselves in an attempt to bring them up to date and become a hit again. Some have been successful in the past and some….well, not so good. Then there are some such as Pink Floyd, who had no choice but to reinvent themselves and carry on when Syd Barrett departed because of mental illness. I’m going to mention two that reinvented themselves.
Kiss reinvented themselves when they shed the make up with two new members of the band. This didn’t work out so well for the band gaining new members …read more
Us And Them : Symphonic Pink Floyd
June 29, 2008 by Scott
Us And Them: Symphonic Pink Floyd is a work of art that no Pink Floyd an should be without. Symphonic Pink Floyd you say? Hell yeah! Originally released in 1995, the London Philharmonic Orchestra did an amazing job. If you can already imagine the phenomena of the sound of Pink Floyd and then imagine it done by an orchestra. There isn’t much more I can say to describe just how cool this cd is. Some critics may say that it lacks some things that make a Pink Floyd song what it is, but I beg to differ. When you …read more
Uncovered: Goo Goo Dolls & Fred Durst – Wish You Were Here….Wish you hadn’t
June 17, 2008 by Scott
Remember this? Shortly after 9/11, the worldwide donation drive for tributetoheroes.com did the live show with artist of all sorts performing together. While I know it was for a good cause and everything, this whole collaboration with The Goo Goo Dolls and Fred Durst is an abomination. Sorry, but you can’t take a classic song like Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here, and change to words. WYWH lyrics already fit the time and situation. There was no need to try to make it your own or whatever he was trying to do by changing the lyrics…it’s just not right. Nice …read more
