Uncovered: Shinedown Cover Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man
July 10, 2008 by Scott
This is not one of my favorite covers. I mean, how can you cover a song like Simple Man and do it even close to lynard Skynyrd’s version. In this all acoustic arrangement of Simple Man, Shinedown fall short and in my opinion really make it sound…not so good. Good effort but the way the guitars seem half strummed and the leads mix does not do the song any justice. Simple man is a classic that I really don’t beleive should be done as a studio recorded song unless you’re going to do it to it’s fullest. What’s your opinion. …read more
Daily Dose 7/9 Aerosmith – Sweet Emotion
July 9, 2008 by Scott
“You talk about things and nobody cares
You’re wearing other things that nobody wears
You’re calling my name but you gotta make clear
I can’t say baby where I’ll be in a year “
What’s there to really tell about Sweet Emotion. Another classic Aerosmith hit about groupies and living the rock star, love on the run lifestyle. Lyrics after the fold.
Uncovered: Guns N Roses Cover Aerosmith’s Mama Kin
We all know how cover songs can go from a classic original to a badly butchered peice of rotten meat real quick, right? Luckily for us this isn’t the case, but honestly, can anyone think of a cover song that Guns N Roses did that was actually bad? Their Spaghetti Incident cd was quite cool and featured cover songs of all sorts with that G n’ R feel to them. This cover of Aerosmith’s Mama Kin was on the Gn’R Lies album which had all sorts of great tunes on it. Enjoy the a live version by Aerosmith first and …read more
Daily Dose 7/7 Aerosmith – Angel
“You’re the reason I live
You’re the reason I die
You’re the reason I give
When I break down and cry
Don’t need no reason why”
Aerosmith – Angel~
The beginning of a weeks worth of Daily Aerosmith Doses Begins today! Of all the great power ballads that Aerosmith has come out with, Angel has hands down got to be my favorite. From the explosive way it starts to the chorus, everything about this song screams classic 80’s power ballad at it’s best. Since Permanent Vacation, the album that Angel is off of, Aerosmith have seemed to find a niche that works by putting at least one …read more
