3 Disk Set Of Bob Dylan Rarities To Be Releases October 7t

Billboard.com reports that Bob Dylan will be releasing a 3 disc set of rarities called “Tell Tale Signs” on October 7 through Columbia Records.
“The track list goes heavy on the past 20 years of Dylan’s career, including a number of unreleased songs and alternate versions stemming from sessions for “Time Out of Mind,” “Modern Times,” “Oh Mercy” and “World Gone Wrong.”
A number of soundtrack contributions can be found here too, including “Huck’s Tune” from “Lucky You,” “‘Cross the Green Mountain” from “Gods and Generals” and the Ralph Stanley collaboration “The Lonesome River” from “Clinch Mountain Country.”

Uncovered: Shinedown Cover Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Simple Man

This is not one of my favorite covers. I mean, how can you cover a song like Simple Man and do it even close to lynard Skynyrd’s version. In this all acoustic arrangement of Simple Man, Shinedown fall short and in my opinion really make it sound…not so good. Good effort but the way the guitars seem half strummed and the leads mix does not do the song any justice. Simple man is a classic that I really don’t beleive should be done as a studio recorded song unless you’re going to do it to it’s fullest. What’s your opinion. …read more

We all know how cover songs can go from a classic original to a badly butchered peice of rotten meat real quick, right? Luckily for us this isn’t the case, but honestly, can anyone think of a cover song that Guns N Roses did that was actually bad? Their Spaghetti Incident cd was quite cool and featured cover songs of all sorts with that G n’ R feel to them.
