Win a poster and an autographed copy of Orianthi’s Believe!
Believe in stores now and available via Amazon!
At 24 years old, Orianthi has already experienced what most aspiring musicians only dream of. She’s opened for her hero (Steve Vai), backed an Idol (Carrie Underwood), traded solos with a legend (Carlos Santana) and shared the stage with the King of Pop (Michael Jackson). What’s left to conquer? The world stage, for one, and this guitar wunderkind has her sights clearly set on the road ahead.
After a performance with Carrie Underwood on stage at the 2009 Grammy Awards the blogosphere was buzzing with …read more
Would Every Former Member Of Guns N’ Roses Please Shut The F*** Up Already!
May 4, 2009 by Scott
I’m tired of saying it and I’m tired of hearing it. Axl Rose owns the name “Guns N’ Roses“. He can tour, and write under that name as long as he owns it. Everyone knows that I’m not an Axl sympathizer but Jesus Christ I’m tired of hearing former members bitch about him.
I said awhile back that Chinese Democracy doesn’t really sound like a Guns N Roses record. It just doesn’t, but the fact remains that he owns the name. What get’s me is the former members of G N’ R bitching about him touring under the name.
Win Reckless Road Guns N’ Roses Book
December 5, 2008 by Scott
As I promised awhile back, I have a copy of Reckless Road Guns N’ Roses And The Making Of Appetite For Destruction. This book documents the coming of Guns N’ Roses from the beginning and the making of Appetite For Destruction. Marc Canter, the author and longtime friend of Saul Hudson (Slash) started collecting and documenting everything Guns N’ Roses from the beginning of the bands inception, to the release and touring of the band in support of their breakthrough and historic record. It has hundreds of pictures of the band as well as pictures of memorabilia, tickets, flyers …read more
Confirmed: Velvet Revolver Dropped From RCA Records
November 21, 2008 by Scott
Velvet Revolver’s debut album on RCA records, Contraband has sold close to 2 million records since it’s release in 2004. That’s almost 7 times what their second album Libertad sold since it’s release in 2007. Despite still going triple gold, RCA records has decided to drop Velvet Revolver from their label. The fact that they are without a front-man doesn’t help the matters much either. Perhaps they are figuring that a the next record won’t sell nearly that with a new singer.
Slash Guitar Hero Three Action Figure
October 7, 2008 by Scott
Via PRNewswire:
McFarlane Toys announces plans to produce a “SLASH” action figure based on his in-game character from Activision’s hit videogame, Guitar Hero(R) III: Legends of Rock. The action figure is expected to hit mass retailers in February 2009.
Slash, one of the most iconic guitarists of all time, lead guitarist for the acclaimed hard rock act Velvet Revolver and a former member of Guns ‘N’ Roses, will be the newest Guitar Hero action figure.
I don’t know why they are calling it an action figure as opposed to a “Figurine” or maybe a “statuette”. Seriously, it’s not the people that …read more
Screw You Saul "Slash" Hudson!!!
August 29, 2008 by Scott
Slash commented in the L.A. Times over Antiquiet.com blogger Kevin Cogill. AKA Skwerl, being arrested for leaking unreleased Guns ‘N Roses Chinese Democracy songs on the internet.
“I hope he rots in jail,” Slash told the Los Angeles Times. “It’s going to affect the sales of the record, and it’s not fair. The Internet is what it is, and you have to deal with it accordingly, but I think if someone goes and steals something, it’s theft.”
To this I say: F*ck you, Saul. Surely you have done worse and got away with it. You know what’s going to effect record sales? …read more
Slash Turns 43 But Doesn’t Look A Day Over…Um…43
July 26, 2008 by Scott
Former Guns N Roses and current Velvet Revolver guitarist, Slash (As if you didn’t know who the hell he was) or Saul Hudson took not one but two nights to celebrate his birthday. The two night bash took place July 23rd and July 24th in Las Vegas Nevada. Among some of the guests were Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello, Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, and Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains. I can imagine a lot of cigarettes were smoked and a lot of Jack was drank. Check out the video below of Jerry Cantrell, Tom Morello and Slash …read more
Daily Dose 7/14 Guns N’ Roses – Knockin On Heavens Door
July 14, 2008 by Scott
Bob Dylan is and was just one of those amazing song writers that wrote so many songs that have been covered by amazing musicians over the years. While Dylan’s singing left quite a bit to be desired, the music itself never fell short and his singing style always made him a unique musician. Not to mention the fact that Dylan never cared what anyone thought about his views or opinions and wrote, played and spoke up on the issues at hand as he still does today.
But wait. Your saying “I thought this is supposed to be about Guns N Roses?” …read more
