Van Halen The Latest Rumored Guitar Heroes

Aerosmith pretty much started the band based Guitar Hero line and the latest band rumored to get an upcoming release on the game is Van Halen. Deservingly I guess, Eddie Van Halen is a guitar hero. How many rock and metal guitar players has he influenced over the years. While his playing and style may be slightly dated compared to some of the guitar players out there today, he’s still an amazing talent. Besides, I don’t like to compare guitar virtuosos of yesterday to players of today. A lot of guitar players these days play for speed more than feeling.

I would hope that the game would feature both Sammy Hagar and David Lee Roth as well as Michael Anthony, but we see what happened with Guitar Hero: Metallica, so I doubt that they’ll be so generous. Maybe even that other singer they had that I can’t remember his name.

Australia’s Undercover.com.au reports that the rumors started at Eurogamer. They then go on to report that the first line of sole band Guitar Hero games was Metallica from last year. Huh? For those that have a clue, we know that Guitar Hero: Metallica is the second game and it doesn’t come out until March 29th (24th for PS2) of this year.
